Brewing the perfect cup of filter coffee at home is easier than you think. I’ve spent years perfecting it, but you don’t have to.

Ingredients
Measure Your Coffee: For a standard cup, use about 2 tablespoons (10 grams) of coffee beans per 6 ounces (180 ml) of water. You can adjust this to your taste too.
Grind the Beans: Grind your beans to a medium coarseness, similar to sea salt. The grind should be consistent for even extraction.
Heat the Water: Boil your water and let it cool for about 30 seconds to reach the ideal brewing temperature of 195°F to 205°F (90°C to 96°C).
Prepare the Filter and Brewer: Place the coffee filter in your brewer. If you’re using a paper filter, rinse it with hot water first to remove any paper taste and warm the brewer.
Add the Ground Coffee: Pour the ground coffee into the filter. Gently shake or tap to level the grounds.
